I am guided by the Quaker notion of the inner light, or rather, the belief that everyone has a spark of divinity within them.  I like looking at special people at special times – the not-so-random moments when we are surprised, inquisitive, weary, and contemplative.  American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson declared in a simple truth: “We are all connected - to each other, biologically; to the earth, chemically; to the rest of the universe, atomically.” This is the foundation of my work. Most of us are decent, kind folk, and my pictures seek to acknowledge and explore our common connection by way of the spark of divine humanity.
